Building or Buying a New Home

Building or buying an ENERGY STAR® Home will pay off in the long run with improved home quality, home comfort, lower energy demand and utility bills, and reduced air pollution.

  • If you plan to build from the foundation up, ask your builder to build an ENERGY STAR home.
  • Look for homes that have earned the ENERGY STAR designation when you are on the real estate hunt. In Vermont, MLS listings include this information. If you don’t see the designation, be sure to ask your real estate agent.
  • Planning a complete gut rehabilitation of your home? Contact Efficiency Vermont to learn how your project can benefit from Efficiency Vermont’s Residential New Construction Services.
