Training for HVAC Contractors

Proper installation of an HVAC system by an EPA approved contractor, among other construction requirements, will be required for new homes with ducted air systems or heat pumps to receive the ENERGY STAR label starting in 2012. The Air Conditioning Contractors of America Quality Assured (ACCA QA) Program has been recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency as an approved HVAC Quality Installation and Oversight Organization.

The national ENERGY STAR Homes program is underwent significant changes in 2011. ENERGY STAR homes Version 3 will provide homeowners with an assurance of a highly energy efficient home that is durable, healthy, and has low monthly operating costs.

NOTE: All ENERGY STAR builders must complete the online ENERGY STAR Orientation Training to be eligible to build homes qualified under ENERGY STAR Version 3. Effective January 1, 2011, new builders must take this training to become ENERGY STAR partners.
