A rebate is available to help GMP customers that use oil or propane to replace a furnace with a model that includes a high efficiency fan motor. Take a look at our furnace fan rebate incentive form.
What is an efficient furnace fan motor?
Forced hot air furnaces include a fan to manage the flow of air throughout the home. When replacing your furnace, selecting a model that includes a high efficiency electric fan motor will save energy compared with a standard motor.
What incentives are available to GMP customers?
GMP residential customers that are replacing oil or propane furnaces are eligible for the rebate. The rebate is $500 for oil and $300 for propane. Additional incentives and financing options may be available from Efficiency Vermont to help moderate income homeowners (earning less than 120% of median income) replace their oil, propane, or kerosene central heating systems. Contact Efficiency Vermont at 888-921-5990 to learn more.
Which furnaces qualify for the rebate?
Eligible systems are ducted, forced-air furnaces less than 225,000 BTU/h in size that meet ENERGY STAR requirements and contain a high-efficiency, brushless, permanent magnet fan motor (e.g., BPM, ECM, and ICM.) For a list of qualifying units, visit Efficiency Vermont's Residential Rebate Center at www.efficiencyvermont.com/pages/Residential/RebateCenter/ or call 888-921-5990.
