The PowerCost MonitorTM can help you lower your electric use by showing you:
- The amount of electricity your home is using from moment to moment;
- Which appliances are costing you the most to operate;
- The total amount of money you are spending on electricity.
The retail cost of the PowerCost Monitor is $99.95. We are making this device available to a limited number of residential customers on a first-come, first-served basis for a special low price of $39.95*, plus shipping.
To gain valuable feedback from our customers about the benefits of this product, we ask those who take advantage of this offer to participate in a survey after they have been using the PowerCost Monitor in their home for a few months.
Funding for this offer is provided through the Green Mountain Power Energy Efficiency Fund (the Fund), which is designed to invest more than $8 million in energy efficiency and renewable energy by the end of 2012. This investment is expected to save Green Mountain Power customers about $25 million in energy costs over time.
While the PowerCost Monitor can help anyone find ways to reduce their electric bill, it provides more reliable results if your electric bill is higher than 450 kwh or $60 per month. Even though it can be deployed on over 95% of all meters installed on single family, residential homes in North America, it is not intended for commercial or high use meters, apartment or multi-family dwellings, or locations where the display unit is more than 100 feet away from the meter. Also, this system cannot be used with meters that spin in both directions (these meters are typically used on homes that use wind or solar energy to generate electricity).
