Efficiency Vermont Announces New Construction Partners of the Year

Today Efficiency Vermont named two Vermont design firms as Partners of the Year in energy efficient design and construction at its annual Better Buildings by Design Conference in Burlington. The awards honor Hayward Design Build, in Colchester, and Rutland-based Engineering Services of Vermont.

Nate Hayward, owner of Hayward Design Build, was named Residential New Construction Partner of the Year for achievements in the creation of energy efficient homes that provide lower energy and maintenance costs, superior comfort and air quality, strong resale value, and durability.

“Nate Hayward is a leader in high-performance home design and a champion for cost-competitive high-performance homes,” said Matt Sargent, Efficiency Vermont Senior Energy Consultant. “Nate’s commitment to energy performance and continuous learning are evident in Hayward Design Build homes. This award rightfully honors Nate Hayward’s contributions to efficient residential construction in Vermont.”

Claus Bartenstein and Dan Dupras, principals of Engineering Services of Vermont, received the Commercial New Construction Partner of the Year award for achievements in the design of high-performance commercial buildings.

“Under the leadership of Claus Bartenstein and Dan Dupras, Engineering Services of Vermont has demonstrated excellence in high-performance building design and dedication to integrating energy efficiency into both new and existing building projects,” said Peter Nadler, Efficiency Vermont Energy Consultant. “They are advocates for and practitioners of leading-edge efficient approaches and are valued members of net-zero energy design teams. With this award, Engineering Service of Vermont receives deserved recognition of their commitment and achievement in high-performance design.”

Efficiency Vermont’s Better Buildings by Design conference is the Northeast’s premier design and construction conference, focusing on building efficiency, durability, and value. More than 1,000 leading building design professionals and construction tradespeople attended.
