Assessing the Electrical Grid Greenhouse Gas Impact of Strategic Electrification
Strategic electrification is a key strategy for meeting climate goals. Electric vehicles, heat pumps, heat pump water heaters… more and more of these and other measures will be plugged in in the years to come. Using three data analysis approaches, the paper presents measure-specific carbon emissions heatmaps based on the greenhouse gas impact associated with electrical efficiency measures, illustrating the GHG impact to the grid.
